2026 Environmental Management Seminar to Address Regulatory Changes, Sustainability and Environmental Solutions
The 2026 USPOULTRY Environmental Management Seminar, taking place Sept. 17-18 in Destin, Fla., will bring together environmental professionals from across the poultry industry to explore the latest regulatory developments, sustainability initiatives and environmental management strategies. Sessions will cover regulatory updates, optimizing dissolved air flotation systems, the future of land application, anaerobic digesters, PFAS response and advanced wastewater treatment technologies for nutrient removal and system recovery.
Attendees will also gain practical insights into energy efficiency, water reduction and reuse, recyclable packaging, social responsibility audits and environmental stewardship through presentations from Clean Water Award-winning facilities and virtual plant tours. An interactive discussion with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will provide attendees the opportunity to discuss current priorities and emerging environmental issues.
“We're in business with our neighbors and it's up to us to stay informed and be good stewards of the resources we use. Environmental regulations, sustainability expectations and operational challenges continue to evolve, making it more important than ever for industry professionals to stay informed. This seminar provides attendees with practical solutions, valuable peer-to-peer discussions and direct access to industry experts and regulators, equipping them with the knowledge they can immediately apply at their facilities,” said Bobby Weeks, senior environmental manager at Wayne-Sanderson Farms and planning committee chair.
The 2026 planning committee comprises Michele Boney, West Liberty Foods; Dr. Brian Kiepper, University of Georgia; Austin Pajda, Amick Farms LLC; Alex Sullivan, Fieldale Farms Corporation; Stephen James, Pilgrim’s; Joe Miller, Rose Acre Farms Inc.; Neal Powell, Perdue Farms; and Bobby Weeks, Wayne-Sanderson Farms and planning committee chair.
